You need to know what type of skin you have before purchasing products. There is a couple of simple steps to find out your skin type. One of the biggest mistakes people make with their skin is using the wrong products. The key to finding the right products is simple. Identify our skin type. There are four major types: sensitive, oily, dry, or combination and all you need is running water, a well lit mirror, and this easy test to figure out yours.
Treating the skin with the correct ingredients, such as our SeneGence line of skincare products, has to offer, will improve the way it looks and feels, and can even change the type from say sensitive to normal and calm. From there, stay vigilant: stress, pregnancy, aging, and certain meds can cause changes - and the wrong products only add insult to injury!
Follow these steps to check your skin type:
- Splash - when you are not wearing makeup and have an hour to spare. pull hair back, splash the face ten times wth luke warm water. Pat skin with a towel until it’s damp but not dripping. Allow skin to air-dry, and wait for 30 minutes without applying moisturizer or makeup.
- Test - stand in front of the well-lit mirror. Squint, furrow your brow, and smile widely. If your face feels tight and itchy or appears flakey or dry, you have dry skin. If you also break out from skin care products frequently, you have sensitive skin. If neither, wait another 30 minutes.
- Blot - press one ply of tissue over your entire face, and then examine the residue on it. If there are greasy patches from your forehead, nose, and chin ( which we call the T-Zone), and your cheeks, then you have oily skin. If it is only oily through the T-Zone, you have a combination skin.

Our moisturizers are designed for all of these skin types, along with our cleansers. NEVER PUT SOAP ON YOUR FACE.
