Cool weather means you need more Moisture for your skin!

The cool weather may feel great for a change and is great for an energy boost, but it can play havoc on your skin. As the cool air gets cooler, so does the humidity, and the dry air that follows literally sucks the moisture from your skin. This can only mean that your skin fallout could be maddening: tight, dull, rough skin that can become red and itchy, and in extreme cases, crack or even bleed. There is plenty you can do in helping your skin survive the winter months by choosing the right products and using them in the right way.
Here are a few tips that you must consider:
- Cleansers and soaps - avoid any foaming body washes and cleansers, bubble baths and harsh bar soaps, as many contain detergents, which will strip your skin of natural oils. Instead, try products, such as SeneGence SenePlex Skincare products. All these products are made of olive oil, and other botanical, natural products. SeneGence SenePlex 3 in 1 cleansers are great for your skin and we have them for Normal to Dry Skin and Normal to Oily Skin. These products also contain a natural sunscreen, blue algea, which is very important during the winter, also. You should never wash your face with soaps!!!!
- Facial Creams and Lotions - look for products with glycerin, shea butter, ceramides, etc. - all are rich moisturizing agents that will go that extra mile to maintain a healthy skin from the inside out. SeneGence SenePlex has Daytime Moisturizers and Evening Moisturizers, in addition, to Body Lotions that will help your skin from the inside out. Because of the small molecular system used in making these products, it can penetrate deep in to the skin to help it heal underneath first, which in turn, will make the top layer look awesome. Most people only are protecting their top layer of skin and then they wonder why it never looks better. It is imperative that you get that bottom layer in good shape, which in turn, will produce new good cells for the outside. SeneGence Daytime Moisturizers are avaliable in Normal to Dry and Normal to Oily. We also carry a great Shea Butter Body Cream that can be used on any part of your body. Shea Butter is great for stretch marks for those of you who are young and have just given birth! Always apply these when your skin is moist.
- Body Lotions - should be used with your daily regimen. Use a body wash, instead of soap when bath or shower. Resist the urge to linger in hot water - it quickly strips out your natural oils. Then seal in the moisture with superrich products such as our SeneGence Body Lotion or Shea Butter Body Cream. If you can’t afford these products, just use Vaseline. It is especially good for your hands. Some people have problems with cracking skin in the winter on their hands. Put a coat of heavy moisturizer on your hands with a glove before going to bed. Sleep in the gloves all night. Same theory works for your feet.
